Exploring the interaction of light with time-varying media is an intellectual challenge that, in addition to fundamental aspects, provides a pathway multiple promising applications. Time modulation constitutes here handle control on entirely different grounds. That holds particularly for complex systems simultaneously structured space and time. However, realistic description materials requires considering their material dispersion. The combination thereof has barely been considered but crucial since dispersion accompanies suitable dynamic modulation. As canonical scattering problem from which many general insights can be obtained, self-consistent analytical theory by sphere made exemplarily assumed have Lorentzian developed applied. eigensolutions Maxwell's equations bulk are discussed dedicated Mie presented. proposed verified full-wave simulations.
